'Tis the season…

to have custom illustrations!

For the past five years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with Brooke Charter Schools on custom holiday cards. We have so much fun learning about their schools' happenings and translating them into a holiday card that will have a special meaning to the people receiving them—much better than just using a stock or generic image! Below is the artwork from the printed cards.

2022 Holiday Card

In 2022, the students were back full-time. We decided to show them heading home on a school bus with a teacher waving next to a Brooke sign. The students are writing in the steam of the windows, “home for the holidays.” We also wanted a positive message expressing excitement about seeing the students in the new year.

2021 holiday card

In 2021, Brooke’s students and teachers were back in the classroom. We decided to depict snow students gathered together, with accessories that mimic the things students are wearing this year: cat-ear headbands, Crocs, and playful backpacks. We also used Brooke-specific details, including hot chocolate mugs, backpack patches, and their “life work” folders.

2020 holiday card

This year was all about remote learning and staying home for the health and safety of their community. We wanted to represent a home without showing people. We created a coat rack with Brooke-specific apparel and a face mask to reference COVID-19 times subtly.

2019 holiday card

We wanted to highlight the different Brooke campuses. All four of them live within a snow globe. We’re always careful not to depict a specific holiday, so we create illustrations that depict the season or seasonal elements. In 2019, we also created animated gifs of snow falling within the snow globe for social media.
